What you’ll do
Wieland currently has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Machinist Millwright Mechanic to join our growing team! This role will be responsible for making the basic decisions on how a mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic repair is to proceed, perform quality repairs the first time, as well as leading the completion of more complicated and specialized mechanical and fluids repair tasks. This role will reside in our Waterbury, CT facility.
The ideal candidate will be competent in performing equipment repairs to varied mechanical and fluids systems including changing problem components and performing preventive maintenance on these systems.
Minimum Requirements
Ability to read and write English. Ability to maintain production records and logs
Employment record reflecting reliability. Above average attendance
Manufacturing or Machinist certificate or 5 years of related industrial experience
Ability to read schematics or blueprints and use that information to manufacture machine parts, tools, or supplies
able to troubleshoot mechanical issues on equipment
Ability to perform simple math, addition, and subtraction. Familiarity with the use of computers
Ability to maintain production records and logs in SAP
Excellent decision-making skills and organizational skills
High school Diploma or equivalent

Starting Pay: $26-$30.90/hr.
Shift Schedule: M-F 3pm-11pm
Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly
Core Accountabilities
Detect and report faulty operations as well as unusual machine conditions
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition
Comply with all safety rules and regulations
Ware appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as described in the appropriate JSP (Job Safety Practice
Read, understand and follow all Job Instructions Specific to the equipment
Perform repairs and installation of mechanical equipment working from schematics, diagrams, and floor layouts.
Diagnose and plan repairs to equipment while minimizing equipment downtime
Setup and operate lathes to machine parts, tools, and supplies as needed and to the required specifications
Setup and operate a band saw to cut material to length
Replace and repair various pumps, valves, fittings, etc. and work with other trades as needed to maintain maximum uptime
Perform various Machine preventative Maintenance activities such as greasing, light mechanical work, check the temperature, pressures, and flow rates.
Perform similar or related responsibilities as required. Perform, as needed other maintenance trades where skills can be applied
