Is your dream to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician? Are you interested in online learning but feel like you need some extra guidance to stay on track?
The VCA Vet Tech Academy is seeking eager Veterinary Technician students to educate, train, and support through the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician Program. This full-time, in-person, paid position is designed to support each student’s success by setting achievable goals and deadlines in a structured environment. Tuition in the Penn Foster Vet Tech Program is paid for by VCA. Training and education provided by the VVTA will supplement, enhance, and reinforce the education you receive in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technology Program. In addition to your school curriculum, you will learn and practice skills that complement your respective level in the program. You will be welcomed to the team as an associate, enjoy all the benefits of being a part of the VCA team, and gain the confidence needed to excel in your career as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician.
After completion of this program, you will graduate with an associate degree from an AVMA accredited vet tech program and will be eligible to sit for the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE).
Our program includes classroom hours at VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Norwalk, CT. Clinical hours are completed at VCA Veterinary Referral Hospital, located in Norwalk, CT or VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center, located in Shelton, CT.

Qualifications to apply
- Good at problem solving
Able to adapt to ever changing situations
Commitment and determination to complete the Penn Foster Veterinary Technology Program
Ability to read and write at college level
Ability to overcome difficult obstacles
Works for VCA animal hospital preferred
Previous experience working with animals preferred
Minimum of 20 hours working in or observing at an animal hospital
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with the public in a professional and respectful way
Requirements and expectations
- High school graduate or GED
Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher throughout the program

We are currently looking for our next incoming class for the VCA Vet Tech Academy!
