Description
Prioritizes innovative promotion of brand awareness and engagement across diverse audiences to support Louisiana SPCA’s marketing, customer service and operations. This position requires energy, enthusiasm, organizational, and analytical skills and will be part of a collaborative, supportive team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, evaluate, and develop communications and resource center staff who are responsible for community calls, daily channel management, media relations, digital development, and marketing.
  • Collaborates with Communications Director in creation of content, digital, and media outreach strategy and manages their execution.
  • Ensures customer service is a priority and listens, resolves and tracks customer complaints to maintain relationship health with current and potential audiences.
  • Manages ongoing and potential projects for the Louisiana SPCA Communications team and communicates with stakeholders on project status and outcomes on assigned tasks/projects.
  • Partners across the organization to establish and maintain easy and sustainable story sharing processes with key stakeholders, a means of tracking and reviewing potential stories, and identification/assignment of stories and supporting data to appropriate channels.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with external vendors to fulfill marketing collateral and project needs.
  • Lead the planning, creation and ROI tracking of marketing strategies using weekly, quarterly and annual KPI’s.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators, analyze and organize information for reporting, share reports with appropriate parties, and use analytics to revise and improve strategies.
  • Retain knowledge of LASPCA’s programs, events, culture, and objectives. Maintain the confidentiality of information, when appropriate.
  • Help develop and manage the annual marketing department budget while achieving desired outcomes.
  • Partner across the organization’s departments to ensure that all information on website and Resource Center scripts are accurate.
  • Stay informed about animal welfare and philanthropic issues and participate in the ongoing development of the animal welfare field through regional alliances.

 

Requirements
Education and/or Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree in communications, marketing, or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related field with 1+ year experience in managing a team of employees
  • 1-3 years of experience in non-profit industry

 

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy with demonstrated ability to communicate key messages clearly and concisely to target audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills working across multiple departments and a range of external partners.
  • General understanding of systemic economic and social issues that affect underserved populations and commitment to serve the community.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions backed by performed data analysis.
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence and take initiative to solve problems, craft solutions, and build more efficient systems.
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence and resolve conflicts for external audience.
  • Must provide a portfolio, electronically preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds; push and pull heavy objects; bend, twist, reach; perform strenuous physical activities including frequent walking and running, standing, bending, and stooping.
  • Should not be allergic to animals or nuts; must be able to work around all animals and nut products.
  • Must be able to work with industrial strength cleaners and disinfectants.

Salary Range:

  • $55,000 – $65,000 DOE
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

BA/BS Degree in communications, marketing, or related field preferred
3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related field with 1+ year experience in managing a team of employees
1-3 years of experience in non-profit industry
