Home Veterinary Care has a position available for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team! We are a busy, two doctor, small animal practice located in the village of Elmira Heights, New York. We are a privately owned facility and we pride ourselves on delivering excellent quality care at an affordable price to all of our patients!
Our clients have a high level of satisfaction, providing word of mouth referrals. This positive reinforcement for our team creates an enjoyable working environment and friendly culture.
Duties include, but are not limited to: calculating dosages and administering medications, anesthetic monitoring during surgical procedures, preparing surgical packs, assisting our veterinarians with patient visits, gathering patient histories, updating medical records, administering vaccines, collecting blood and urine samples, operating lab equipment, and taking radiographs including dental radiographs. Experience is always a plus, but we are willing to train the right person for our team.

Benefits include: competitive pay, employee pet discount, 2 weeks paid time off, 40 hours sick time, 6 paid holidays, CE allowance, paid licensure, uniforms, and 401k co-contributions. We offer a 4 day work week and rotating Saturdays. We do not have any on-call, Sunday, or holiday shifts.
Dr. Hottel, the Practice owner, is a 2010 Cornell University graduate. She is a joy to work with and has a smile for everyone! She has worked with animals all her life and has a deep passion to ensure the patients she sees are provided with the best medical treatment possible. Our associate veterinarians are also a pleasure to work with sharing Dr. Hottel’s dedication to great medicine for all patients.
Elmira Heights, NY, is located in Chemung County, the gateway to the southern Finger Lakes region, which is known for the breathtaking scenery, outdoor activities, wineries, and craft breweries. Both Ithaca and Watkins Glen are beautiful nearby towns, approximately 45 minutes away, offering hiking trails and stunning waterfalls.
