Overview

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Prior experience as a veterinary assistant or veterinary technician preferred.
Experience in exam rooms, treatment area, surgery, dentals and their associated technical skills is preferred.
Ability to create, monitor, and maintain detailed/accurate patient records.
Proactive mindset, with a strong ability to anticipate our doctors' needs.
An ability to effectively educate our clients about their pet’s health.
Effective Communication Skills are Paramount
