Overview
We are looking to hire a fill time (Monday through Friday) veterinary technician for a fast-paced, single doctor small animal hospital in Murrieta. We are a small team who love what we do and try to care for each patient as if they were our own. Applicants must be organized, detail-orientated, able to multi-task, and provide excellent customer service with a positive and friendly attitude.
Some of the job requirements (but not all) include:
-Able to work 8 hour shifts Monday through Friday (closed weekends!!!)
-Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
-Must be able to handle dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
-General cat and dog triage knowledge
-Must be comfortable administering cat and dog vaccines, as well as client education regarding vaccines
-Perform dental xrays, charting, and cleaning for both dogs and cats
-Must have genreal surgical knowledge, including (but not limited to): sx prep, patient monitoring, charting, scrubbing-in when necessary, recovering, & extubating surgical patients
-Must have general veterinary instrument knowledge
-Place IV catheters in both cats and dogs
-Must be able to draw blood from cats and dogs from multiple locations
-Must be comfortable communicating with educating clients (via phone, text, email, and in person)
-Must be able to multi-task well in a fast-paced environment
-Must be detail orientated and follow through with tasks
-Must be reliable and have a posititve attitude with a good work ethic
-Must have computer knowledge, and comfort learning new programs
-Must be able to assist with a multi-line phone system
-Idexx in-house lab equipment knowledge a plus, but not a requirement
