At Yukon Veterinary Hospital, we provide a wide range of services from vaccinations and routine medical care to advanced diagnostics and surgery.  We offer complete dental care, weight management consultations, soft tissue surgery, as well as diagnosis and treatment of internal medicine cases.

Our staff is made up of friendly and caring, well-trained professionals.  Our receptionists will greet you personally and pleasantly, and our licensed veterinary technicians can educate you on topics such as bandage care and diabetic management.  The highly trained doctors are dedicated to providing the best medical and surgical care for your beloved pets.  Many of our staff members have been working with us for many years and as a team, we strive to make your experience at Yukon Vet as comfortable as possible.

Job Description

Join a supportive team in a high-end, modern environment. Pet Groomers will perform top quality grooms in a timely manner. Groomers should have current grooming experience and be able to consistently provide pups and parents with a high level of gentle and professional care. This is a full-time, commission-based position, the hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM until completion. We pay for all shampoos, etc but having your own shears and tools is preferred. Job duties may include but not limited to:

Clean the dog’s teeth
Maintain an upbeat attitude
Calm an anxious dog
Ensure company policies are being followed
Communicate effectively with clients to find out what they need
Shampoo and wash a dog’s hair or fur
Create a welcoming environment for dogs and their owners
Cut or shave a dog’s hair or fur
Must be able to groom cats
Full clientele with approximately 8-10 pets per day

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent
Proficient at Grooming
Ability to lift dogs that weigh up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in a professional manner
Calming presence to pets
Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time
Great communication skills
Ability to work on a team
Must be able to groom cats
