Wolf River Pet Hospital & Resort is looking to add an experienced, full-time veterinary assistant or technician to our team!
About Us:
- We are an intimate, community-based veterinary clinic and pet resort facility based in the heart of Germantown, TN. Our team members truly enjoy getting to know our clients and their pets like family!
- Our hospital offers comprehensive medical services such as wellness exams, preventative care, surgeries, in-house diagnostics, and hospitalization.
- Our resort offers additional services such as grooming, bathing, cat and dog boarding, and daycare.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Assistants and technicians who have had previous experience working in a veterinary medical, animal resort, or animal shelter setting.
- Assistants with a friendly and warm personality who are willing to work with other staff members in a team environment.
- Their character and work ethic should always reflect our core values: Speak truth, choose positivity, serve well, own it, and always better.
- Team members who have the ability to learn quickly and multitask. This person is ideally thorough, detail-oriented, and a self-starter who takes initiative to go the extra mile for our clients and patients.
- Applicants with 1-2 years of experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Candidates must communicate professionally and effectively with clients in a clear and concise manner in-person and over the phone, ensuring a positive customer experience for both clients and patients.
- Skills: Giving medications and injections, working with hospitalized patients, drawing blood samples and placing IV catheters, running various blood tests, taking radiographs, preparing patients for surgery, gathering detailed history for the veterinarian, understanding of vaccinations and preventatives, and experience running anesthesia.
The Details:
- Candidates must be available to work 40 hours weekly, between 7am-6pm weekdays and 8am-12pm on various Saturdays.
- Pay is competitive based on experience level and full-time employment benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, uniform stipends, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401k programs, and deeply-discounted veterinary care for staff pets.
- We offer tuition reimbursement to support the professional development of our assitants who are working towards their licensure in an accredited veterinary technology program. Full-time employees who have worked for us for a year are eligible to receive tuition reimbursement up to $5,500 once licensed.
- Candidates should be used to working on their feet and must be able to lift up to 40lbs, leash and walk large dogs around the clinic, and be comfortable handling cats.
- Employees must have reliable transportation to and from work.
