VCA Veterinary Specialists of Northern Colorado is seeking a full-time experienced, licensed, Veterinary Technician to join the Neurology Team at our AAHA-accredited, 24-hour emergency/specialty referral practice located in Loveland, Colorado. We are a well-established and growing specialty referral hospital serving communities in Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Kansas since 2000. We pride ourselves in offering the highest quality medicine, meticulous patient care, and compassionate, client-centered customer service at all times – day and night. VSNC is fully equipped to receive any small animal veterinary patient needing emergency care.

As a hospital, we believe in supporting everyone on our staff and recognize that without each team member’s participation in our vision, we cannot succeed. Our E/CC technicians play a vital role in our hospital as they are often the first hands on our emergency patients. At VSNC you will be caring for a variety of cases ranging from those needing basic nursing care to those requiring advanced/critical care. This includes but is not limited to:

 

· Compassionate care of our patients

· Assistance with triage

· Venipuncture

· Intravenous and arterial catheter placement

· Urinary catheter placement and care

· Management of patients on oxygen supplementation (oxygen chamber, flow-by or nasal cannula)

· Familiarity with best practices in veterinary CPR

· Obtaining digital radiographs

· Performing general anesthesia and monitoring (SpO2, CO2, non-invasive and invasive blood pressure monitoring, EKG monitoring); Patient recovery from anesthetized procedures

· Patient assessment and monitoring of vital parameters

· Reconstitution and administration of intravenously or subcutaneously delivered medications

· Incision, wound, and bandage care/management

· Accurate and efficient prescription preparation

· Clear, effective, and compassionate communication with clients and referring veterinarians

The range for this position is $20.00-$24.00/h. Schedule will be Tuesdays through Fridays, 8am to 6pm.
