Overview
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and monitoring anesthesia with veterinary anesthesia monitoring expertise.
- Perform animal restraint and handling using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Conduct laboratory work including blood draws (phlebotomy), sample processing, and diagnostic radiology to support accurate diagnoses.
- Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and laboratory analyzers with proficiency.
- Administer medications, injections (IV insertion, vascular access), and treatments following veterinary protocols and aseptic techniques.
Skills
- Proven experience in veterinary settings with knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy.
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices, anesthesia administration (general anesthesia), and monitoring techniques.
- Competence in laboratory work including phlebotomy,and diagnostic radiology procedures.
- Ability to perform IV insertion, animal catheterization, and vascular access confidently while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration within a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in operating medical equipment such as X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and veterinary software systems.
