Overview
The Spay Neuter Save Network is a 501(c)3 nonprofit veterinary surgical clinic that specializes in high-quality high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN). We are looking for a certified veterinary nurse to help us meet our mission to provide lower cost services to the community, keeping pets with their people. We also provide life-saving surgeries such as amputations, cystotomies, foreign bodies, enucleations, etc. We also participate in MASH-style clinics located in other counties to help combat feline overpopulation.
Duties
– Assist veterinarian with medical procedures, including animal catheterization, laboratory testing, and anesthesia.
– Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both pets and staff during examinations and treatments.
– Conduct medical collections such as blood draws, urine samples, and other diagnostic tests following aseptic techniques.
– Manage kennel duties including cleaning, feeding, grooming, and monitoring animals’ health and behavior.
– Maintain accurate records of veterinary procedures, laboratory results, and patient histories using veterinary terminology.
Qualifications
– Knowledge of animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and veterinary terminology essential for effective support.
– Hands-on experience with animal husbandry, pet care, and dog handling to ensure safe interactions.
– Skills in laboratory procedures, medical collection, aseptic technique, and veterinary critical care are highly desirable.
– Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments with strong attention to detail and safety protocols.
– Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and educating pet owners about animal care.
– Have Pennsylvania and New York veterinary technician licenses, or be working toward obtaining these licenses.
– Have own reliable transportation and be willing to drive to remote locations for occasional high-volume cat clinics.
– Pass RECOVER CPR course within a month of starting work.
Pay: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:The perfect candidate will have knowledge and skills gained in a veterinary nursing curriculum and on the job training. Must stay cool under pressure in a fast paced medical setting. Must be respectful to coworkers, clients, and patients at all times. We are willing to train the right person!
