Overview

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in the veterinary clinic, be able to make decisions in emergency situations and be able to handle stressful situations calmly. Our Veterinary Technician will be responsible for caring for a wide variety of pets in a professional and ethical manner and work closely with the veterinarian to ensure that all animals are provided with the highest level of care.

Responsibilities:

Keep animals healthy; Treat sick animals
Ability to interpret animal behavior with a willingness and ability to exhibit proper restraint techniques for any species we see (cat, dog and/or pocket pet)
Administration of medications and vaccinations, catheter placements, laboratory sample collection and preparation, processing in-house lab tests
Radiograph positioning
Monitoring of hospitalized or sedated/anesthetized patients with multiple devices blood pressure, EKG, capnography, etc.
Strong computer skills, including accurate recording of a complete medical history on patients and maintaining medical records in SOAP format; Experience with Cornerstone software is a plus
General housekeeping and facility upkeep
Teach others when necessary
