We are a busy multi doctor, small animal veterinary hospital located on the South side of Columbus. We are looking to add a full or part time Registered Veterinary Technician to our team. Even if currently in school to become an RVT, we encourage you to apply!
The Registered Veterinary Technician position at Obetz Animal Hospital is responsible for the general care of all animals in for treatment and surgery. This position ensures the safety of all patients in the hospital as well as following the proper care standards expected at Obetz Animal Hospital. The Veterinary Technician needs to be able to relay important medical information to our clientele through a clear channel of communication.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Treatments of all hospitalized patients, perform blood draws, read fecal samples, cytologies, and UA's. Prepare surgical packs/ instruments and patients for surgery, Assist in surgery and recover patients, Temp check and monitor patients, Prepare patients for release, Perform dental cleanings, Prepare vaccinations and other medications, Administer fluids, Write up charts, Perform proper animal handling techniques, Understand OAH standards of care.
