Veterinary Technician – Emergency Nurse

Metropolitan Veterinary Associates is a state of the art, 25,000 square foot hospital.  We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of a veterinary nurse with two years’ experience in veterinary emergency medicine to work in our emergency department or ICU.  Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent.

*For those without two years of emergency experience, but with the education required and a passion to advance their skills, inquire about our talent management program*

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Daily responsibilities and job requirements:
• Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
• Triage – identify emergencies and illnesses
• Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis
• Sound knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
• Administer medications, assist in procedures
• Position and capture digital radiographs
• Proficient computer skills
• Communicate with cli
