Legrand – Wiremold is hiring Tool and Die Makers.

Union Shop – 2 shifts available – 6am-2:30pm & 3pm-11:30pm

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

1.     Qualified candidates must have five years experience in new build/repair and troubleshooting of dies, experience and ability to work with progressive or transfer dies, the ability to work well in a team environment, the ability to provide detailed documentation on tooling issues and component prints, self motivation and excellent problem solving skills.

2.     Fabricates a range of tools including but not limited to tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, metal machine parts, die parts, roll form tools, punches, form tools, cams, and special tools; performs precision grinding, boring, or polishing of special tools and dies.

3.     Assembles any manufactured parts into working production machines or machine subassemblies.

4.     Uses both engineering blueprints and specifications as well as verbal instruction to produce and assemble dies, machines, jigs and components.

5.     Sets up and operates all applicable machine tools and machinist’s hand tools.

6.     Diagnoses and repairs production equipment and tools.

7.     Makes own setups on CNC equipment including but not limited to programming by either CAD based or machine code programs.

8.     Performs Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) schedules and assignments as required for the tools and machines used in the performance of this function.

9.     Maintains all materials, tools and equipment in good repair and maintains orderly condition of work area consistent with 5 C practices and the Wiremold Production System.

10.  Records information required for analysis and decision making including, but not limited to equipment performance, quality and productivity.

11.  Complies with all OSHA and Company safety procedures and works in a safe manner to insure both personal safety and safety to others.

12.  Performs all assignments with attention to quality standards of workmanship.

13.  Reports current or potential problems or malfunctions that may affect assignment or operation of equipment.

14.  May train others in repair and safe operation of equipment.

15.  Performs other work as directed by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

1.     Must know how to use all applicable tools and measuring devices to perform the work.

2.     Must maintain current licensing or certification required for the performance of assigned tasks.

3.     Must know and follow all applicable OSHA and Company safety policies, practices and procedures.

CNC operation, CAD,

Required Education Level : High School Diploma or Equivalent
