Just two miles north and three miles west of the lakefronts, you will be surrounded by beautiful scenery and plenty of attractions to keep your family or self entertained every weekend.

Job Responsibilities: Experience in the veterinary field is required and will be prioritized over applicants that do not have any. Responsibilities of this position include taking vitals, performing venipuncture, conducting radiography, placing IV catheters, patient anesthesia monitoring, surgery assistance, initiating emergency procedures, administering injections, restraining animals as necessary for examination or treatment, and assisting veterinarians or clients with a variety of tasks.

Other requirements include good client communication and phone skills, basic computer literacy skills, ability to multitask in a busy atmosphere, ability to lift 50 pounds, write legibly, dress professionally, show up on time for each shift (including Saturdays as needed), and the ability to work effectively in team or individual settings.

About Our Culture: At Laurie Animal Hospital, we strive to keep a healthy, positive, and collaborative culture in which each team member can feel comfortable sharing ideas or asking questions when necessary. With excellent mentorship and guidance provided for each service we offer, you will never have to worry about being unsure of what you are responsible for. We have built and developed our business through trust, confidence, reputation, and a strong passion for what we do each day. Our highly skilled team is motivated to treat each employee and patient like the valued family members they are.

About our Services: As a full-service animal hospital and boarding facility, we offer a variety of quality services to our patients and are seeking some professional assistance. These services include emergency care, a variety of in-clinic tests, vaccinations, digital radiology, spay/neuter surgeries, a variety of non-routine surgeries, boarding services, and more! The types of patients we are qualified to deal with include dogs, cats, rabbits, and “pocket pets”, although we typically stick to basic procedures regarding rabbits and “pocket pets”. Don’t feel overwhelmed, as we offer excellent mentorship in all of these!

Considering our deep commitment to consumer and patient satisfaction, we remain open 6 days a week during office hours and also offer after-hours pick-up and drop-off times on the weekends.

About our Team: As a two-doctor practice, we have been able to form a collaborative, experienced, and motivated staff consisting of one certified veterinary assistant, three receptionists, three veterinary assistants, and an office manager. We are looking to expand our current staff to meet the demands of our clientele base as we are currently as busy as can be! We work closely as a team to collaborate and support each other through cases and challenges while celebrating our successes as they occur.

About our Work-Life Balance: Considering we have a family of our own, we understand how busy life can get outside of the work schedule. Homelife is important, so we ensure that all employees have the ability to take consecutive days off in their schedule when needed as well as rotating weekends (Saturday hours are 8 am-12 pm). We do not offer/require late-night appointments, overnight shifts or on-call shifts. Full-time employees can enjoy a flexible schedule with paid time off.
