Kent Veterinary Clinic provides full-service diagnostics, surgical care, dental procedures, for treatment of small companion animals. We have a full range of laboratory, radiology, and dental equipment, to provide you with the best service. We offer in-house diagnostics such as, digital x-rays, bloodwork, and laser therapy.  We offer medical bathing, grooming, and a wide range of flea, tick, and heartworm prevention for your pets, all located in our in-house pharmacy for your convenience.

With a combination of one hundred years of Veterinary experience between Dr. Kent and Dr. Doucet; you know you’ll be in great hands! We are a close-knit team that enjoys working hard and of course having fun together. Kent Veterinary Clinic is not just well known in the community but, we are active members of the Chamber of Commerce.
Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

We are looking for a dependable, compassionate Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Technician to join our team. This dual-role position involves both patient care and facility support.

Key Responsibilities:

Restrain pets for exams and treatments
Assist with triage, diagnostics, lab work, and imaging
Administer medications and provide nursing care
Prep and assist in surgeries and monitor anesthesia
Feed, walk, bathe, and medicate hospitalized and boarding animals
Maintain clean kennels and hospital areas
Restock supplies and assist with recordkeeping
Support post-op recovery and monitor patient behavior
Clean and sterilize surgical instruments
Requirements:

Comfortable with strong odors, noise, and exposure to animal waste, bites, scratches, or disease
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
Compassionate, calm, team-oriented, and a strong communicator
Skilled in safely restraining animals and handling them with patience and care
Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks (lifting large dogs, bags of food/litter, etc.)
Basic knowledge of cleaning/disinfecting protocols and safe use of cleaning equipment
Proficient or willing to learn sample collection, medical history taking, lab testing, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring
Able to recognize abnormal conditions and learn to administer medications
Follows oral and written instructions accurately
Self-starter with a desire for continued learning and skill development
Maintains positive and professional relationships with clients and team members
