THE POSITION
Are you a diligent and dedicated mechanic who is eager to find a career that is both challenging and rewarding? Situated in the beautiful mountains near Michaux State Forest, South Mountain Restoration Center is a long-term care nursing home facility seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic to perform mechanic work on commonwealth vehicles and construction equipment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing skilled maintenance and repair tasks on a wide range of vehicles including cars, trucks, tractors, and various construction and maintenance equipment. You may also be responsible for performing repairs on diesel equipment. You will conduct inspections to ensure compliance with state safety inspection specifications, as well as provide guidance to other automotive and maintenance staff such as tradesman helpers, laborers, and equipment operators. You will receive assignments through general instructions, work requests, and the automotive fleet preventative maintenance schedule. You will perform your duties independently within established guidelines and regulations and your work will be reviewed upon completion by an automotive mechanic supervisor or other administrative superior.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Shift hours may change based on operational need, overtime and travel required as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License.

Legal Requirements:A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
