DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an HVAC Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform a variety of routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration system components according to a prescribed set of instructions as well as monitoring system operation and performance within DGS owned or managed facilities.

Utilize your vocational skills to access, navigate, and monitor the Automated Logic, Johnson Controls, Delta, and/or Siemens building automation systems to monitor equipment performance, receive alarm messages, and provide proper notifications.  Additional responsibilities include recording readings as instructed on equipment or utility meters related to chilled water production and/or water usage.  The ability to perform preventative and corrective maintenance as well as installation of HVAC systems is expected.  You will have the opportunity to use blueprints, record drawings, shop drawings, electrical schematics, or other available documentation to identify system or equipment components and to locate equipment.

 

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE – REQUIRED TO REPORT TO WORK DURING EMERGENCIES AND OFFICE CLOSINGS.
Work hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, units, and equipment; or
Completion of a three-year Vo-Tech training program in refrigeration, HVAC, or building automation and six months experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration equipment.

Necessary Special Requirements:  All employees must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment.

You must possess an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:  You must be able to perform essential job functions.
