THE POSITION
Are you seeking an administrative and technical managerial position in the field of automatic temperature control and systems design, maintenance, and installation? Take on a new challenge at the heart of the Energy Resource Management Office. Oversee the 24-hour, 7-day operation and maintenance of a state of the art Central Heating/Cooling Plant with Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and lighting control systems for all buildings owned and operated by the Department of General Services (DGS). DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Building Automation Systems Administrator, you will direct the activities and assignments of employees engaged in preventative maintenance, installation, service, and repair of refrigeration, HVAC, and lighting control systems through the refrigeration plant supervisors and their teams. You will utilize all available knowledge, data, software, and resources to ensure maximum and efficient utilization of these systems. Responsibilities include developing a proactive maintenance schedule, conducting comprehensive system surveys, answering and taking immediate action on emergency calls around the clock, and offering recommendations to improve overall operation.
This position also performs consultative and problem-solving duties with outside contractors, interprets and monitors contractual agreements, and participates in future development and preparation activities. Other responsibilities include performing project site inspections, developing and conducting on-the-job training programs for Environmental Control staff, and performing a full range of personnel management duties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Essential employee: this position is required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to two days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years as a Building Automation Systems Technician 3 (commonwealth title); or
Eight years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems, which includes four years configuring and programming BA system hardware devices and software programs; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes four years configuring and programming BA system hardware devices and software programs.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Additional Requirements:
You must possess an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
