Coastal Cat Clinic is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our feline only hospital in beautiful Pacifica, CA. We are currently in the process of relocating to a larger space with an anticipated move in date in early 2023. With the addition of a new doctor and a larger hospital, we are looking to expand our technician team to aide in the GROWTH of our hospital.

Who We Are Looking For:

A veterinary assistant with at least 3 years’ experience working in a clinical setting. Knowledge of Avimark is a plus as we are a paper lite hospital.
Being a Gold Certified Cat Friendly Practice, we require all staff to follow our cat friendly protocols and restraint tactics. This means calm, low stress techniques.
A self-motivated, energetic team player who understands the importance of teamwork and that clear, effective communication among clients and team members is a priority.
The ideal candidate will share in the belief of a strong bond between humans and their pets.
Someone who genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
Experience working with cats of all ages, as well as experience with restraint, feline vaccine protocols, collecting & preparing lab samples, and taking radiographs is preferred.
We are paper lite so computer literacy/competence is a must.
You genuinely want to make a difference for each client & patient and are dedicated to maintaining a positive work environment.

Anticipated Schedule: TBD

Full Time: Four or Five 8-hour shifts
Part Time: Three 8-hour shifts
Our hours are Tuesday – Friday 8 am to 4 pm, and Saturday 9 am to 4 pm (closed on Sundays and Mondays, hours subject to change). Some weekend availability will be required, but you may not be required to work every weekend.
We are closed for major holidays but do schedule staff to check on boarders. Holiday schedules are sign up based.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience in the veterinary field and with cats is desirable. Avimark knowledge is a plus (we are a paper lite hospital).
