Overview

Tired of working ER or at an understaffed location? Tired of all the drama and pettiness of some large practices? Or just want to get started in field and learn some new skills? Burlington Animal Clinic may be the place for you!   We are currently looking for Mondays 8:15-5:15, Tuesdays 1:00-5:15, Wednesdays 12:00-8:00, Fridays 8:15-5:15 and rotating Saturdays 8:00-12:15. BAC is a small clinic with a friendly, light-hearted atmosphere. We strive to foster a learning environment for all staff members and respect our employee’s work/home balance. No after hours commitment is required. Our clientele includes many long term clients, and we often see several generations of clients and their pets. Creating strong relationships with our clients and patients is a huge part of this role.   Currently, everyone works as part of a team within the clinic environment. Two people set up each appointment and/or tackle each technician visit. This has worked out well for training, means that the team can draw blood on their own, and seems to be much more efficient than other options. We generally have 5-6 people on at all the time, with one doctor.    We offer competitive pay, health care, Aflac benefits, matching 401k, continuing education opportunities, employee discounts, uniform stipend and paid time off. As a staff, we enjoy a cake on each person’s birthday from a local bakery, as well as frequent lunch and treats, especially on the busy days! Sometimes we get cake or cookies just because someone suggests it! We always have snacks on hand. Our clinic cats Fluffy and Muffy are available for a cuddle and pets if you are having a hard day.   Candidates must be people-oriented and have at least one year of animal experience. This could include kennel work, veterinary assisting, dog daycare, grooming, etc. Owning a pet does NOT count as experience. Preference will be given to candidates with technician experience.   Job responsibilities include: client communication, venipuncture, radiology, taking histories on patients, patient restraint, preparing vaccines, and answering the phones. We can train skills that you don’t currently have.
