Location: West Los Angeles – 1875 Pontius Ave
Work Shift: Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat — 8am – 5pm PST
Veterinary Technicians provide high-quality medical care for animals in Best Friends’ lifesaving and veterinary programs. In this role, technicians support veterinarians in a fast-paced clinical environment and play a direct role in achieving Best Friends Animal Society’s no-kill mission. This position is ideal or individuals who thrive in hands-on, high-volume environments and are excited by the opportunity to relocate and grow within a mission-driven organization.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Graduate from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technician program and licensed in good standing where required
• Minimum of one year of veterinary technician experience or equivalent experience in an animal welfare or nonprofit setting preferred
• Experience or interest in shelter medicine, neonates, or high-volume spay/neuter preferred
• Strong clinical skills including venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, medication administration, and patient care
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
