WHO WE ARE Bayou City Veterinary Hospital is in the heart of Houston in the Washington Corridor area minutes away from the Heights, River Oaks, and Downtown. · Passion for veterinary medicine · Strong work ethic · Excellent critical thinking skills · Effective time management · Demonstrate initiative and desire to always be learning · Work as a team member and independently · Be able to remain calm and focused in stressful situations · Ability to effectively communicate with clients to obtain patient history and to explain treatments and procedures · Thorough familiarity with exam room protocols, common diseases, vaccines, preventatives and commonly used veterinary drugs and treatments · Accomplished in blood draws, injections, catheter placement, treatment and monitoring of hospitalized patients · Proficient with commonly performed lab procedures such as cbc, chemistries, urinalysis, cytologies, etc. · Ability to take accurate radiographs · Accurately and professionally record patient medical information · A high school diploma and a minimum of 2 years working in · a veterinary clinic is required. Pay: $16.50 – $20.00 per hour Licensed Veterinary Technicians are strongly preferred. Compensation is dependent upon education and experience. We are looking for individuals who are interested in full time or part time employment. Our technicians typically work a four-day week, with shifts being 11 hours including a 1 hour lunch break. We are currently looking for people who can work our 7:45 am to 7:00 pm shift or 6:45 am to 6:00 pm. While the clinic is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, you must be available to work some weekend and holiday shifts to care for hospitalized or boarding patients (typically this is 1 weekend per month).
