Animal Kingdom Veterinary Hospital vows to administer care with compassion and loving attention as if each patient were our own.
Our clinic treats a variety of pets, no matter how small. We treat dogs, cats, and have occasionally been known to see guinea pigs, hamsters and birds. Animal Kingdom Veterinary Hospital is proud to provide progressive medicine technology in-house including anesthesia, lab work, laser surgery and therapy, emergency services, and critical care. We also offer more routine services such as dentistry, boarding, and preventative care. We realize pet owners feel more secure in covering all their pet needs in a “one-stop-shop,” so we also have an in-clinic pharmacy with nutritional counseling to treat every aspect of animal wellbeing.

Some of the duties of the Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Technician, but not limited to:
– Bathing animals. – Caring for boarding and hospitalized patients. – Cleaning and sterilizing a variety of hospital area including treatment, reception, surgery, kennels and offices. – Preparing surgical instruments, tools and equipment. – Assisting Doctors with patients. – Cleaning, washing, and organizing surgery. – Determines animal requirements by reviewing care plans and records.
– Maintains animal records by documenting animal conditions, reactions, and changes; updating database.
– Enhances service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
– Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
– A variety of other duties as assigned
Qualifications
We’re looking for:

Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
Outgoing, Physically and Emotionally Strong, Knowledge of Animal Behavior, Self-Starter, Animal Husbandry, Verbal Communication, Documentation Skills, Inventory Management, Creating a Safe and Effective Environment, Action Oriented, Multi-tasking, Energy Level, Patience, Lifting over 50lbs.
An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
Must be able to properly restrain pets.
Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
