AMETEK Hermetic Seal, Rosemead CA is the premier designer and manufacturer of high reliability hermetically sealed, electrical interconnection devices. Its products are used in sensing and actuating systems by the aerospace and defense, oil and gas, and medical device industries around the world.   Hermetic Seal products include qualified military connectors, high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) bulkhead connectors, very high temperature connectors, and ruggedized connectors that combine glass seals with advanced PEEK (polyetheretherketone) molding technology.

SUMMARY

Design and machine tooling for manufacture of components and assemblies for all processes throughout the facility.

MAJOR AREAS  OF RESPONSIBILITY

Tool Designer/Toolmaker responsibilities include the following:

  1. Create component and assembly drawings for the manufacturing of tools; such as small assembly tools, holding fixtures, rubber molds, dies, flat & pierce dies, and glass dies), in accordance with verbal instruction (no drawing), sketches and prints.
  2. Operate and maintain equipment and machinery to produce the highest levels of quality and meet the demands of production.
  3. Provide feedback to supervisor on all issues pertaining to work, safety and problems with machinery and tools.
  4. Maintain a safe and clean environment.  Maintain good work habits and ethics with minimum supervision. Perform other duties as required by supervisor and management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Complete understanding of tool manufacturing from CAD design (Solidworks preferred), through machining, heat treating, assembly, and validation of the design, required.
  2. Needs to be highly proficient in close tolerance machining using manual tool room equipment and/or CNC equipment.
  3. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, as well as follow directions.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in cross-training efforts with other departments to acquire additional skills and knowledge for advancement.
