Overview
We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our team.
- Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care and treatments
Restrain and handle dogs, cats, and other animals safely and compassionately
Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
Assist with patient intake, weighing, and basic procedures
Collect and prepare laboratory samples as directed
Clean and disinfect exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipment
Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate concerns to the medical team
Provide compassionate care and attention to patients
Assist with client communication and education
Maintain accurate patient records
Stock supplies and help maintain an organized, clean, and efficient clinic
Follow all clinic safety, sanitation, and patient-care protocols
Work cooperatively with veterinarians, technicians, receptionists, and other team members - Qualifications
Previous veterinary or animal-care experience preferred
Strong animal-handling skills
Excellent communication and customer-service skills
Dependable, punctual, and professional
Able to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
Comfortable working with animals that may be frightened, nervous, or difficult to handle
Must be able to work effectively as part of a team
A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential
