Overview
This role supports the veterinary team in delivering high-quality care to all patients and exceptional service to clients. Veterinary Technicians are integral to the daily operations of the hospital and are responsible for:
- Animal Care & Handling: Safely and compassionately restraining and handling pets for exams, procedures, and treatments.
- Client Communication & Education: Explaining medical procedures, home care instructions, and preventative wellness to pet owners.
- Financial Coordination: Preparing and presenting treatment estimates and financial options to clients.
- Medical Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment notes, medications, and follow-up care.
- Team Collaboration: Communicating effectively with veterinarians, fellow technicians, and customer service staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Cross-Training: Participating in training across various hospital departments to support overall operations and enhance team flexibility.
Accurately obtain patient history, vitals, and pets' medical information. Basic knowledge of vaccine protocols and medical terminology. Obtain blood samples-cephalic/saphenous/jugular. Ability to perform and/or assist with diagnostic procedures. Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient updates, education, and at home care. Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records.
