We are an AAHA-accredited practice that has provided high-quality service to southern Illinois for over forty-five years. Central Hospital for Animal specializes in dentistry, preventative care, reproductive medicine, and exotic pets. We host a full-service grooming salon where we provide anything from nail clipping to custom brush-outs and styling. Our facility is stocked with the latest innovations in animal health so we can deliver full laboratory and pharmacy service in-house. Our parent hospital is the leading referral site for orthopedic and joint repair, along with more involved surgeries; this enables us to get our clients the help they need efficiently. Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

We’re looking for a compassionate, versatile team member to support both clinical and front-desk duties in our veterinary hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

Restrain animals, triage patients, collect lab samples, assist with imaging, and provide nursing care
Administer medications, assist in surgery, and monitor anesthesia
Communicate treatment plans clearly with clients
Greet clients, manage reception area, schedule appointments, and process payments
Provide emotional support to clients during difficult moments
Answer phones/emails and direct inquiries appropriately
Work Environment:

Must tolerate odors, noises, and potential exposure to bites, scratches, waste, and diseases

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

High work ethic, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset
Punctual and dependable with Saturday availability
Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience preferred; CVT/RVT/LVT is a plus
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to interpret medical records and accurately document client/patient history
Knowledge of preventive care, surgical procedures, and hospital workflow
Skilled in low-stress, safe animal restraint
Proficient in collecting and processing blood, urine, fecal, and skin samples
Experienced in setting up and running lab tests
Proficient in capturing radiographs; dental radiography experience is a plus
Skilled in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
Detail-oriented, organized, and computer-savvy
Able to receive and apply constructive feedback professionally
Self-starter with a desire for continuous learning and development
Calm, compassionate, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
