VETERINARY ASSISTANT FOR FRONT OFFICE:

Our team is seeking only drama free, positive attitude minded people that are dedicated to helping pets and their pet parents. Applicants must be drug free and able to pass a background check.

The work schedule of the role(s) we are seeking to fill may be done as a half day shift schedule for two different people or a full day shift schedule for one person.

Our Front Office Veterinary Assistants are responsible for:

*Arriving on time and on schedule, following our dress code, presenting themselves professionally, working without their personal cell phone present, learning our protocols and workflows and reliably following them at all times, working their entire shift with full focus on providing care for our clients and patients within our protocols and workflows, participating with all other team members by cleaning during shift close-out so that our facility is ready to serve clients and patients when the next shift starts.

*Reception: Answering phone calls, handling and/or routing incoming phone calls to the proper team member, happily greeting incoming clients, accuracy in taking and completing client/patient pre-checkin, check-in, exam room tasks, history taking, assisting the Veterinary Technician and Doctor with patients including but not limited to following the patient through each step of it’s treatment room care and properly restraining the patient during treatment by the Veterinary Technician and Doctor, coding the medical record, providing financial estimates to clients, setting up medication and providing medication instructions to clients, scheduling NextCare appointments before check-out, financial check-out, and wishing departing pets and clients farewell (which may include helping the clients/pets to their car).

*Biosecurity:  We pride ourselves on having the cleanest veterinary office in the world!  Our assistants are the pro-active front line of cleaning to ensure our clients and patients have an experience that looks clean, smells clean, and is clean.  In addition to front office biosecurity the Front Office Assistants will be involved in middle office and kennel biosecurity as well.

*Communication:  Our assistants are actively involved in workflows that ensure high compliance levels of wellness for our client’s pets.  In addition to general communication with clients, our assistants are actively involved with personally voice phone calling clients with reminders and scheduling appointments during those calls.

*Those assistants that successfully develop and reliably perform the above skills with dependability and accuracy become eligible to perform their small animal clinical for Penn Foster’s veterinary technician and assistant program(s) at our office.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must be enrolled in, and showing progress in, Penn Foster's Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant program

Required Education Level : High School Diploma or Equivalent
