Overview
HVAC Service Apprentices will be required to assist HVAC Technicians during routine maintenance and inspections on new and existing systems.
Responsibilities
Help install, maintain, and service a wide variety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment and systems.
Replace belts and filters with assistance.
Add refrigerants and oil to required systems.
Clean necessary equipment and parts when needed.
Pick up and deliver necessary parts, materials, supplies, tools and equipment.
Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe and orderly condition.
Perform related duties that are assigned.
Perform on call duties for after hours and weekends.
Requirements
High School graduate or GED.
Valid Georgia driver’s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of standard practices and theory of the HVAC trade
HVAC Technical school or Apprenticeship school training with 2 years’ experience as a Service Technician
Manual and electrical tools and equipment applicable to HVAC trade.
Proper methods of storing equipment, materials, and supplies
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
Follow oral/written instructions and directions
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Work cooperatively with others.
Work independently with little direction
Meet schedules and timelines
Maintain routine records
Observe legal and defensive driving practices
WORKING CONDITIIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
