Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician (Overnight Shift)

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Type: Full Time, Overnight

 

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician for the overnight shift. This role is crucial in supporting surgical teams by ensuring the sterile preparation and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle the cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure all surgical instruments and trays are adequately sterilized and prepared for upcoming procedures.
  • Maintain strict adherence to sterile processing protocols to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.
  • Collaborate with surgical staff and other team members to support a high-standard surgical environment.
  • Manage tasks related to the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments.
  • Identify and resolve any issues with instrument functionality or equipment malfunctions.
  • Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required; further technical training or education in sterile processing preferred.
  • Provisional CRCST required, full certification to be obtained within 120 days of employment.
  • Previous experience in a sterile processing department preferred.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and participate in an on-call rotation is required.
  • Must be willing to undergo a 120-day day shift training before transitioning to the overnight schedule.
  • COVID vaccination status in compliance with healthcare facility requirements.

Compensation:

  • Starting pay at $19.80 per hour with potential to increase to $21 hourly after a 120-day performance evaluation and upon obtaining CRCST certification.
