VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Animal Care Center in Prattville, AL is hiring a full-time (35+ hours) veterinary technician or veterinary assistant. Licensed technicians will be given priority. Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a small animal veterinary hospital. Pay is flexible based on level of licensure and experience but in the range of $14-20 per hour.
Animal Care Center is a small practice with a focus on excellent customer service and patient care. We have great hours, 7:15-5:30 and do not take emergencies after hours. We are closed Wednesday afternoons and weekends. Our staff rotate taking care of hospitalized and boarding pets on the weekend. This usually equates to a weekend every 3-4 weeks. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong communication skills, client education & patient care, venipuncture & injection administration, restraint of large or difficult animals, maintain clean facility, properly care for all surgical materials and equipment, keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared, anesthetic monitoring, lab procedures such as fecal flotation exams, heart worm test, skin scrapings, ear cytology, urinalysis and etc., effectively position and take radiographs under the direction of a veterinarian.
