Our hospitals are all unique – in Washington State, we have small, one and two doctor clinics on up to large teams of 100+ and everything in between. Core Responsibilities:
- Be willing to grow and learn, know when a task or situation is beyond your current skillset, and be comfortable asking questions and exploring new ways of working.
- Utilize your expertise to assist veterinarians in examinations, diagnostics, and treatments, including surgery and anesthesia, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients.
- Perform technical skills such as placing IVCs, administering injections, inducing anesthesia, bandaging wounds, and running diagnostic tests with the utmost care and precision.
- Be a trusted resource for pet parents, providing guidance on preventative care, nutrition, and behavior to promote optimal health and quality of life.
- Champion our commitment to exceptional patient care by maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring hospital processes and protocols are followed.
- Foster a supportive and collaborative team environment by sharing your knowledge, skills, and passion for veterinary medicine.
- Communicate with all team members, staff, vendors, and visitors in a respectful, professional manner while promoting the doctors’ recommendations, hospital vision and goals, and your team.
- Contribute to hospital efforts and initiatives surrounding patient and team safety
What we expect from you:
- Valid WA LVT License in good standing or eligible to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Genuine love of animals and the people who love them.
- Proficiency in core technical skills including cystocentesis, induction and maintenance of anesthesia, venipuncture, and administering patient treatments PO, SQ, IM, and IV.
- Knowledge of medical mathematics and terminology and apply them to your everyday work.
- Ability to recognize patient symptoms through own observations and patient histories and determine the urgency with which a patient must be treated.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to the ever-changing needs within a hospital on a day-to-day basis.
- Exercise attention to detail in all aspects of work, with an understanding that the difference between performing a task correctly vs. incorrectly can be life-changing for patients.
- Approach mistakes as an opportunity to learn, whether they were your own or someone else’s.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to build rapport with clients and team members, fostering trust and loyalty.
- A “can do” attitude and commitment to embrace challenges and to dedicate yourself to continuous learning and improvement.
- A willingness to support the hospital and team in any way needed to achieve positive patient and client outcomes
