About us
The Animal Medical Center of Itasca is a 6 -doctor, family owned, general practice veterinary hospital. We strive to provide excellent client service and high quality medicine in an exciting and friendly environment. We have proudly been serving the community and their pets since 1991. In addition to medical services, we also offer boarding. As a team, we aim to treat you like family, we support each other and value every member of the hospital.
Responsibilities:
Assisting with surgery
Anesthesia monitoring
Obtaining radiographs and using appropriate personal protective equipment
Phlebotomy and catheter placement
Client education and communication
Patient handling
General invoicing
Medication administration
Dental scaling and dental radiology
Performing laboratory testing including in house blood tests.
Relaying information between clients and veterinarians
Other duties deemed appropriate by management
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic with knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology is required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $19.00 – $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proper restraint of veterinary small animal patients
Good communication skills regarding patient care and schedule
Venipuncture and sample collection
Proper protective protocols for radiology and patient positioning
Client communication regarding outpatient care and common medical conditions under DVM supervision
