At Osceola Animal Clinic, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. Our clinic was established in 1944 and has served the veterinary needs for our community for over 75 yrs. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care for animals and supporting veterinarians in various clinical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and a passion for helping animals in need.

Duties

 

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and laboratory work, including blood draws and urinalysis.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
  • Monitor animal health and behavior, providing critical care when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
  • Provide education to pet owners on animal husbandry, nutrition, and training.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
  • Handle animal restraint safely to ensure the well-being of both the animal and staff.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of care.

Requirements

A Certified Veterinary Technician with active license required, 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology is essential.
Experience in veterinary critical care.
Strong skills in animal restraint techniques.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
